Summer Mode Activated!

Why do the summer months seems to fly twice as fast as at any other time of year? We only had one official Rotary meeting in July and it looks like August will be the same. (See below) But it's okay. I'm enjoying the increase in social time spent with Rotarians and hope you are too.

Thanks to everyone who reached out after our first meeting of 2026-27 to indicate you are open to the changes I'm suggesting for our Club. As someone who's only been a member for 3 years, it was a bit nerve-wracking to step in and make suggestions but I'm embracing the ‘increase our ability to adapt’ and it seems that so are you.

In this first month, I've had some really great meetings and connections with fellow members and am looking forward to building on those as the year continues. If you'd like to get together to discuss your Rotary experience or anything else, please reach out.

Warmly,

Kerri Ann Colby
Club President, 2026-27

Dawgs Night: a home run of fun!

Rotary night at Seaman Stadium was a huge success. Our Club hosted 50 Rotarians, friends and family from Okotoks, High River Rotary, Fish Creek Rotary, and even a new member from Heritage Park Club on the Core4 Patio. The game was good but certainly not the best part of the evening. I know for me, it was getting the chance to visit with friends, new and old, under the glow of the setting summer sun.

Special thanks to Kathy de Chantal, our Club Experience Director for all her behind-the-scenes effort to make it happen. It was a wonderful experience!

What to expect in august!

Wednesday, August 5th
Club Meeting at Best Western  - 6 pm
If you haven't already, please RSVP.

Wednesday, August 19th
ROLLING BARRAGE WELCOME + PUB NIGHT
NO REGULAR MEETING
Because of our commitment to support the 200 riders who come through Okotoks as part of the Rolling Barrage, our regular meeting will be cancelled this night and instead we'll be asking Rotarians to sign up to either set-up the Canadian Flags on Veterans Way in the afternoon and/or be part of the crew that takes them down and brings them back to the Rotary storage locker. The riders are expected to travel down Veterans Way around 5:30 pm. After our service work has been completed, we'll meet up at a pub for fellowship. More details will be shared soon.

Wednesday, August 26th
Board of Directors Meeting
7 pm in-person at Partners Development Group or online via Google Meet
Everyone Welcome. Please reach out if you'd like to attend.

Saturday, August 29th - 9am to noon
'Welcome Ornella' Open House
Jon & Tanya Hayes are hosting an Open House from 9 am to noon so club members can meet Ornella Crugnale, our inbound exchange student from France. This would be a great opportunity to find out more about Ornella, introduce yourself, and see if there's an opportunity for you to connect to help make her year in Okotoks unforgettable. More details to come. Save the Date.

SEE YOU SOON!
