Being pulled over by law enforcement can be distressing for most people, but can be particularly unnerving and a barrier for drivers who have developmental disabilities. Rotary and Inclusion Foothills arranged for 5 clients to participate in traffic stop simulation exercises along with Q&A at the HTA parking lot.
Thanks to Rotarian Jim Landon and Inclusion Foothills support person Jenny for arranging this event.
Special thanks to Foothills Peace Enforcement officers Devon Bartek and Evan Woods who patiently explained how traffic stops work as well as the do's and don'ts.
Thanks as well to HTA for the use of the parking lot for this purpose.
